Over the last number of years the Lord has given me a word at the beginning of each New Year to share with the body of Christ. This year was no different (I encourage you to listen to our podcast entitled “Word for 2015” you can also read the word by clicking here). He also gave me seven additional keys for the body of Christ to step into in 2015. I was reviewing these 7 keys recently and was reminded that in every season we walk through the Lord will emphasize different aspects of what He is doing in our lives, and in our assignment.
Many years ago the Lord put on my heart to develop a set of core values for my life. For me, my number one core value is to live a lifestyle of communion and fellowship with God. It really is the highest priority in my life! Out of that core value was birthed a list of additional core values that always develop the foundation of what I am doing. So even though God may be emphasizing something different in my life in 2015 then he was emphasizing in 2014, and 2013 – those things are always built on the foundation of my core values.
Core is defined as the heart and center of everything. The core helps to define how we reach our vision. One of the fruits of being in friendship with the Lord is that you become a person of vision. Yet many people have vision but lack the foundation and wisdom that will actually steer them into that vision. This is because they have not built a solid foundation based on core values. So as you read this I want to encourage you to develop a set of core values that will define the very foundation of who you are. I believe developing core values is a necessary function if we are to step into the fullness of our destiny and I believe that every person’s core values should begin with a foundation and fellowship with G-d.
I challenge you once again to develop a set of core values that will define your life in this season.
