Over the past few months in our Reflections blog we have been discussing the importance of core values. In this month’s entry I would like to take a brief pause from our discussion about core values and hopefully bring some encouragement to you about unsaved relatives. I was preparing for a meeting recently when I felt the Lord say that I was to go into the meeting and encourage people to not give up on their unsaved relatives. There was such a grace released that night for prodigals. I Tim 2:4 says “…none should perish” and in 2 Corinthians 5:19 we read “For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people's sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation.”
I want to encourage you to not give up on the salvation of lost loved ones. We are in an incredible season of harvest in the earth and that harvest includes your lost relatives. I also have relatives that have not surrendered their life to the Lord Jesus Christ. Often I will ask God what the destinies of their lives are. What did He see in them before the foundation of the Earth? And when I get the answer I begin to declare that destiny over their lives. We don’t declare the negative; we declare the positive. We declare the will of God. Then I begin to declare that the eyes of their heart would be opened to the things of the Lord. If I don’t live near them I ask God to send people their way that would speak the word of the Lord and that God would speak to them in dreams and visions. It is the will of God that your entire family is saved. Let me say that again; it is the will of God that your entire family will be saved!
So as you read this let’s agree for prodigal sons, mothers, daughters, and entire households to be saved! We declare that as the blood of Jesus has covered our hearts it will cover their hearts also. I call in unsaved relatives from the North, South, East, and West. You may very be the key that unlocks their hearts to the gospel of Jesus. I don’t care how many times you have told them about Jesus – you hold the key. So ask the Lord what that key is for them. Do not give up on your prodigals because they will be part of the harvest that God is doing on the Earth.
I believe that some of you, over the next few weeks, will get phone calls and/or emails from unsaved relatives who are excited to tell you that they have surrendered their lives to Jesus. As we believe for our unsaved relatives let’s continue to be the voice of G-d to the world around and be one who harvest the souls of unsaved relatives of people we have never met
