My hope and prayer are that this letter finds you trusting God and living in great hope. This is the greatest time to be alive in the earth for the Body of Christ! My encouragement to you is that you see your future as God sees it, make decisions about your future today, and never ever allow the negativity or failures of the past to define your present. As you live with this mindset, know that your greatest days of eternal life in the earth are still ahead!
I want to continue our foundation series this month by exploring the necessary value of feeding our spirit with the appropriate spiritual food. Our foundation is built properly when we are continually developing and practicing the fundamentals. Humanity is first a spirit being who has a soul that is housed in a body. Our soul (which is composed of our mind, will and emotions) has no mind of its own. The soul will think and therefore the body will behave in the way it has been trained. When we become born again, because we have been given the power of the Holy Spirit to live on the inside of us, God now holds us responsible for feeding our spirit which has been created to rule our body with the appropriate diet. What we feed our spirit defines our life in the earth (Proverbs 4:23). In the natural, if we feed our soul a heavy diet of sugar it will then begin to crave foods with a high volume of sugar. If we are not careful, we can fall victim to addiction. This is obviously a negative example. The goal of the Godhead is that we would find all our needs met in Him and literally become addicted to encountering His beauty and life with a deep longing for His presence. If we are not pursuing this goal, then the foundation of spiritual life is dangerously flawed. The Godhead has deep encounters and secrets He wants to reveal to us that are only discovered in intentional times of fellowship. Over 23 years ago I began this journey of learning to feed my spirit with the appropriate nutrients. I still vividly remember the first day of engaging the Godhead in an intentional time of fellowship. I prayed for just about everything I knew to pray about thinking at least 20 or 30 minutes had passed, only to discover about five minutes had passed. I learned that when we first begin to practice the fundamentals such as fellowship and prayer, our spirit develops much like a natural muscle develops when we exercise. If we have never run a mile it will be nearly impossible to run a marathon on our first day of intentional training. We then must become intentional in developing a lifestyle of fellowship and prayer. As I began to practice an intentional lifestyle of fellowship, I slowly developed a greater capacity to commune with God, sometimes for hours at a time. As I developed (and I'm still developing) this lifestyle of fellowship, I found that my physical body would begin to crave the presence of the Lord. At other times throughout the day, I would sense this invitation from the Holy Spirit to simply sit at His feet and worship the King. I learned like David you can actually develop a craving in your body for the presence of God as you feed your spirit man the presence of God and the word of God. David declared "My soul longs, yes, even faints for the courts of the Lord; My heart and my flesh cry out for the living God" (Psalm 84:2). I also learned my practice of fellowship with God created an even greater desire to know God. We can create a greater desire to know God by our daily practice of communion with God. One of the most beautiful aspects of developing within ourselves a greater capacity to know God is that though we can live content, we are not fully satisfied. For eternity God has invited us to explore the reality of knowing Him that will never be exhausted. The created one (us, humanity) can never exhaust the Creator (God). My prayer for you each and every day is that you would continually develop a deeper desire to know God and as you develop a desire to know Him, you would live life fully satisfied! I want to once again thank you for your continued partnership with this ministry. Together we are making an impact and advancing the gospel of the Kingdom in the nations of the earth. In addition to sending your testimonies, please also send us your prayer requests so we may stand with you in faith and believe with you for God's word to be manifested in your and your family's life. I also want to once again thank many of you for joining us during our recent Faith Conference with Dr. Jerry Savelle. I believe it was a life changing event that equipped us to enter 2020 properly. If you would like to purchase an MP3 or CD set from the conference, you can do so in our web store. Pursuing Him, Abner Suarez
